Delta expands service between Detroit and Shanghai to daily flights
Beginning May 22, 2024, Delta will add nonstop flights between Detroit (DTW) and Shanghai Pudong (PVG), increasing the number of flights from the current three per week to one per day.
Currently, Delta Air Lines operates non-stop flights between the U.S. and China, including daily flights between Shanghai Pudong and Seattle, and three weekly flights between Shanghai Pudong and Detroit. Under the latest agreement between the U.S. and Chinese governments to further increase flights, Delta will soon operate two daily nonstop flights from Shanghai Pudong to and from two U.S. hub airports, Seattle and Detroit, to make it easier for customers to travel to any destination city in the Americas.
Delta's Shanghai-Detroit flights will be operated by its international flagship Airbus A350-900, while the Shanghai-Seattle flights will be operated by Delta's newest widebody, the Airbus A330-900neo.
Both aircraft offer best-in-class products and services with Delta's four seat offerings: Delta Premier Business Class Suite, Delta Premium Economy, Delta Premium Economy and Economy Class.
On long-haul flights between the U.S. and China, Delta passengers can enjoy a journey that is tailored to their comfort, including in-flight dining inspired by local cuisine and award-winning service from Delta crews. Delta's Premier Business Class suites and Delta's Premier Economy Class offer premium in-flight amenities, including noise-cancelling headphones, blankets made from recycled materials, and handcrafted toiletry bags from Mexican apparel brand Someone Somewhere containing Grown Alchemist's premium skincare products and travel essentials, all of which add up to a more comfortable and relaxing experience in-flight.
All Delta passengers can watch a wealth of exciting programming from the Delta Studio on seatback entertainment screens and charge their devices using seat power outlets. Since 2018, Delta has partnered with Creative Chinese Cuisine celebrity chef Mr Leung Tzu Gung to create exquisite Chinese cuisine for passengers in all cabins on China-US flights.
